This video doesnt help much if the problem is not turning the hands fast enough. Often a slice is the result of the hands not turning enough leaving the clubface open at impact. Remember, your hands should be closed in the followthrough. The palm of you right hand should face the ground after hitting the ball.

Yes, of course the set-up and take-away are of greater importance in the overall golf swing. However, the video is entitled “Releasing the Club Head”. Therefore, the emphasis in this video is on the technique of club release. What use would it be to someone who struggles with releasing the clubhead, to click on this video, only to find instruction on set-up and take-away? The “much more important” information is thereafter rendered useless.

    I would agree with …
I would agree with that. Swinging fluidly and without interference will help the club automatically release just after impact or the bottom of your swing. I think a lot of people try and force a release…or just have a lot of tension in the wrists and forearms from swinging too hard or trying to control the shot – both of which can hinder the “automatic” release.

  17. pat52007 Said,

    This is ok …
This is ok instruction but the set-up and take away are much more important. Key swing thought in take-away; keep the club head square for the first couple of feet, do not open the club head: in other words do not lay the club head open!! Remember this when starting the backswing; Low, Slow and Square!!
